Who Can Officiate?
We only use officials who are certified by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and via the Minnesota State Referee Committee (MNSRC). Anyone aged 13 or older can become a certified referee.
New Referees
If you have not refereed before, you will need to do all of the following:
Visit the MNSRC website https://www.minnesotasrc.com/ and click on Become a Referee to learn about becoming a ref and to complete your certification for 2024
Once your certification is complete, send an email to Tim Wareham at [email protected]. I will check your certification status in the USSF system.
See GameOfficials User Instructions > New users of GameOfficials instructions below to create an account and join the New Prague group. (We use GameOfficials for assigning refs to games and making ref payments.).
Purchase equipment and uniform at www.officialsports.com or http://planetsoccermn.com Referees should always have a yellow jersey and, if possible, at least one alternate color (green, blue or red most often).
Returning Referees
- If you ref’ed with NPSC in previous years, your information should already be in our GameOfficials system. You must complete your USSF recertification requirements for the 2023 season. Visit the MNSRC website https://www.minnesotasrc.com/ and click on Recertify for 2024
Once your certification is complete, send an email to Tim Wareham at [email protected]. I will check your certification status in the USSF system. If you have not worked with New Prague before, see below for signing up with us in GameOfficials.

Expectations of Referees
All referees must treat players, coaches, parents and each other with respect.
Dress and behave professionally on and off the field. This includes wearing the correct uniform, shirt tucked in, socks pulled up, no jewelry.
Arrive a minimum of 20 minutes before kick-off to begin pregame inspections of the field and players.
Honor your assignments. Unexcused turn-backs will cost you future assignments.
Referees earn their matches. Assignors are not obligated to assign you matches.
Communicate any and all issues to the assignor immediately following a game.
New Prague Referee Pay
Game Cancellation Policy
NPSC commits to informing refs at least 60 mins before game time that a game is canceled - otherwise the refs are paid in full.
