Registration for the summer competitive season will be open after the end of the MYSA summer season and will typically remain open until early fall.
Registration for the fall competitive season will open late spring/ early summer and will remain open through mid summer.
Winter indoor registration will open late summer and will remain open until early fall.
All player registration fees must be paid in full prior to the first practice, unless other arrangements have been made and approved by the Board of Directors.
Registration fees are determined by the Board of Directors who approve each season’s budget.
Registration fees cover the majority of costs associated with playing competitive soccer such as MYSA registration fees, referee fees, tournament fees, operating costs, field improvements, etc.
The registration fees do not cover the following:
• Uniforms (individual)
• Additional tournaments to play (team - optional)
• Professional coaching sessions not sponsored by the club (team - optional)
• Credit card convenience fees
• Coaches hired for teams with no volunteer parent coaches
• Turf rental fees
All players trying out for a travel team will be notified of his or her team placement via posting on the website or by email by age group once rosters are finalized by the Board of Directors.
The spring/ summer soccer season kicks of with practices starting in March or April depending on the weather and/or gym space available.
Games can start as early as the 1st week in May and could run through the 2 or 3rd week in July.
The NPSC recommends that teams make every attempt to meet at least twice per week - either 2 practices, 1 practice and 1 game, or 2 games. Some coaches may opt to add a third practice. More competitive teams at the C1 or C2 levels will typically meet at least 3 times a week allowing them to get extra practice time in.
Although there is no official time time after which a match can start, I have rarely encountered a situation where a game started prior to 5pm during the week. Since both coaches have to agree upon the start time and both coaches depend on parents to get their players to and from games, it is pretty much as given that start times are between 5pm and 8pm during the summer.
All home games for the NPSC are currently played on school property within the NP school district. That means games and practices will either be held in the city of New Prague at one of the schools here or in the city of Elko New Market at Eagle View Elementary.
The MYSA determines the district in which the NPSC will play in each season for league play. Away games could include towns our neighboring towns such as Lakeville, Prior Lake or Bloomington. However, our teams will also travel to Rochester, Mankato, La Crescent and Fairmont. Every team will travel approximately 5 times each season.
Tournaments locations are chosen at the discretion of the coach and team so travel distances will vary. However, most teams participate in tournaments located in the greater metro area.
Uniforms are typically purchased every two years as styles change from the manufactures and become outdated or discontinued. In addition, our players have a habit of growing out of their uniforms over the span of 3 years, making our policy of replacing uniforms every two years the most practical and economical for our families.
